Maker Space Class Descriptions

General Information about Classes:

  • Class sizes are limited, sign up early!
  • Classes are for 14 years old and up. Younger youth can attend when accompanied by an adult. We enjoy teaching youth and some classes are designed for youth. Special classes can be designed for specific groups. Contact one of the instructors for more information.
  • A liability waiver is required for everyone, parents must sign for youth under 18 years.
  • Contact the instructor for more information or to register for a class.
  • Fees are due on the first session of the class.

Make-it Monday the 2nd Monday of each Month 6:oo-8:00 PM

We opened our Maker Space to the community so you can work on your favorite project. You are also welcome to just come and take a tour of our Maker Space. People can also come to get help on using the 3 D printer and the CNC router. Contact Roger Rehm at 330-466-3777 / rrehm77@gmail.com for more info. We don’t charge, but we welcome donations in order for the maker space to operate in the community. Come Check us out! 

CNC Router Beginner Wed, April 12th, 6:00pm-8:00pm

You will learn how to set up and run the SainSmart 3018 Pro CNC router. You will also learn the basics of the design software called Easel. Prerequisites: Lap top computer with Wi-Fi capabilities. Set up Easel Account (It’s free) https://www.inventables.com/technologies/easel. After taking this class you will be able to take a CNC router home for 1 month to use in your spare time. Contact Mike Buss at 330-749-5240 for more info or to register for the class. Cost $30 

3D Printing Beginner Thurs, April 13th, 6:00pm-8:00pm

Basic instruction on how to use the 3 D printer. You will be able to take one of our 3D printers home for a month once you complete this training. Contact Ken Thomas at 330-264-7677 or Tym Rehm at 330-988-8045 for more info or to register for the class. Cost $30

Creating Cartoons (Basic) Mon, April 17th, 7:15pm-8:15pm

You will learn the basics of creating cartoons of both people and animals. To include the creation of your very own characters. Prerequisites: A sharp pencil, a pad of paper and a vivid imagination. Anyone 15 and under must have a parent present. After taking this class you will have the option to take the intermediate cartooning class. 3D CAD – Basics Tues, April 18th & 25th, 6:00pm-7:30

Have you heard of CAD, this class will teach you the basics of 3D CAD. Learn how to use AutoDesk Fusion 360 to create 3D objects that can be turned into physical parts. This class will get you started on your 3D CAD journey. This class requires two sessions (11/9 &11/16). A laptop that can run Fusion 360, don't worry if you don't have one as we have laptops you can use. An Account with AutoDesk and Fusion 360 installed. Wood Lathe – Beginning Sat, Aril 22, 29 & May 6, 9am – 11am

You don’t need any experience to take this class. You will learn about the parts of a wood lathe, how to operate and how to use the tools. You will complete three projects to take home, spindle, wooden pen, a segmented wood bowl. This class will have three sessions. Cutting Board Class Tues, May 9th &16h, 6:600 -8:00pm

This is a two session class that will teach you how to make a hard wood cutting board. The first evening you will learn what woods to use to make a cutting board, how to rough cut wood blanks and glue the blanks into cutting board. This is a great first wood working class to learn basic wood working skills.

Bluebird House Sat, May 13 & 27, 9am – 11am

This class will teach how to build a bluebird house complete with steel post and predator guard. In addition, you will learn where to place your bird house, how to attract bluebirds and how to care for your bird house. All the material are included to build a bird house.
